Gannett Suburban Newspapers Barbara Taylor Schoen: writer and educator Barbara Taylor poet, novelist and sor at the State Barbara Taylor Taylor Schoen, a and writing profesUniversity of New York College at Purchase, died Thursday at her Bronxville home. She was 69. Mrs. Schoen was the author of two novels, Place and a Time" and "A Schoen Spark of Joy" published in 1967 and 1969, respectively. She had many articles and short stories published in various publications, including The New York Times and Seventeen magazine." She also wrote articles for the Bronxville Review Press-Reporter, a Gannett Suburban Newspapers weekly in 1976.

She was born July 4, 1924, in Manhattan to Caroline Colgate Taylor and Dr. Howard C. Taylor Jr. Thomas Doyle Ill: real-estate, Thomas N. Doyle III, a resident of Somers and Boynton Beach, died of cancer Thursday at his home in Somers.

He was 75. Mr. Doyle was born June 26, 1918, in Scranton, Pa. He graduated from schools in Lawrenceville, N.J., and attended Princeton University in the 1930s. He spent his career managing the Massasoit Investors a familyowned real-estate and investment business, which had offices in Manhattan and Westchester.

Calling hours Mon Church, at KANE FUNERAL HOME, 2-5pm, Catoonah St. Ridgefield. Obituaries In 1946, she married Donald R. Schoen, a former Bronxville mayor. They lived in Cambridge, for several years before moving to Indiana and to Bronxville in 1957.

She attended the Brearley School in New York and Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She received a master's degree in physics from Boston University in 1950. While studying for her doctorate in physics, she worked at the Department of Biophysics at the Harvard Medical School. In the 1970s, Mrs. Schoen worked as a teacher's counselor at the Cooperative College in Mount Vernon, which later became part of the College of Letters and Sciences at SUNY Purchase.

She was appointed assistant professor of language arts at SUNY in 1973 and a tenured associate professor in 1978. Mrs. Schoen established SUNY's writing program. She was named director of the program in 1984. Her retirement from SUNY Donald was effective Wednesday.

Mrs. Schoen was a member of the National Council of Teachers of English and The Authors Guild Inc. She conducted teacher workshops in fiction writing for the Westchester School Partnership. In addition to her mother of Manhattan and her husband of Bronxville, she is survived by two sons, Robert Schoen of and John Schoen of port, Riverside, two daughters, Claire Werner of Norwalk, and Susan Terray of Woods Hole, a sister, Alice Day of Canberra, Australia; a brother, Howard C. Taylor III of Jericho, and six grandchildren.

Family and friends are making donations to the Barbara Schoen Memorial Fund, in care of the Purchase College Foundation, 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase, N.Y. 10577. He was 38. Goldsboro police were investigating his death as a homicide. Mr. Trent was born Dec. 23, 1954, in New Rochelle to Roland and Lelia Watkins Trent.

He attended New Rochelle public schools but graduated from a high school in the Bronx. He attended a business school in New York for three years and the Fashion Institute of Technology for two years. Mr. Trent was the security supervisor of Management Safeguard Inc. in the Bronx.

He had Edna M. Hallahan: retired Edna M. Hallahan, a Mount Vernon resident, died yesterday at Mount Vernon Hospital. She was 86. She was born June 29, 1907, in Mount Vernon to William and Mary E.

Gillen Hallahan. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and Our Lady of Victory Business School. Miss Hallahan was a retired executive secretary. She had worked for Watson Donaldson Realty and Insurance Co. in Bronxville.

She was a member of chapter 101 of the Catholic Daughters of America; chapter 517 of the American Eva Craig: former White Eva Craig, a former White Plains deputy city clerk, died Aug. 27 in Pan-American Hospital in Miami. She was 87. Mrs. Craig was born July 27, 1906, in Rhinebeck to William E.

and Anna Corke Mattison. On June 6, 1928, she married Alexander Russell Craig in Mount Kisco. He died in 1979. Robert Nicholas Sciaruto. Daughter of Nicholas the late Albertina Rolle Bonta, sister of Richard Bonta.
