Apply early for SSI Individuals planning to apply for Supplemental Security. Income benefits should do so as early in the month as possible, according to Jed Natkin, a field representative with the Social Security Administration. A change in the Supplemental Security Income law Oct.

1 requires a pro-rating of the first month's payment to an entitled beneficiary. Pro-rating is based on the date of application or the date of filing for reinstatement. Prior to the change, said Natkin, an approved applicant would receive benefits for the entire month, regardless of when the application was filed. "This could cost someone a couple of hundred dollars," he said. Supplemental Security Income pays benefits to individuals 65 years of age or older who are legally blind or totally disabled and in "significant financial need." For further information, call Social Security at 472-9542.

We can't hear your voice, We see your smile, We can't share our lives with you. But still after all this time of being without you, Our love for you remains true. We miss you on your 9th Anniversary in Heaven. Wife, Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren McCLANAHAN, Barney T. There must be an answer why it is, That one who enjoyed life so, Why someone who was so dear fo us, Suddenly had to go.

Your gentle face and patient smile, With sadness we recall, You had a kindly word for each, And died beloved by all. The voice is mute and still'd the heart, That loved us well and true, Ah, bitter was the trial to part, From one so good as you. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, As time goes by, we miss you more. Your loving smile, your gentle face, No one can fill your vacant place. Your Loving Wife, Edith RUSSELL, Lois years have -passed since you've been gone.

Your loving memory lingers on. Husband, Brothers Sisters.
